Is ADHD anymore an individual('s) phenomenon? I wonder. It seems to me to be the cultural more.
Moreover, with so much sensory overload (dictated by the market and only mediocrity available for imitation) it may be more the norm, or even an advantage rather than a handicap, for the 'fashionable' multitasking required of an individual, either in private life or in a professional environ.
I think that's true. we certainly are seeing an increasing trend, while part of this is increased awareness I think factors such as the complexity of culture, kids' inability to make any sense of their school curricicula and the increase in inputs from TV, computers &c are certainly factors. It is possible too that with increasing numbers of families where both parents work away from home, the lack of intimacy and interaction will also be having an effect.
